Tupelo Blue Suede Cruise

Richard Petty’s Performance exhibit in Tupelo, MS will be at the Tupelo Blue Suede Cruise May 4-6! It’s a classic car cruise with live entertainment, swap meets, poker runs, car corral and an opening night movie. Visit tupelo.net for more information.

For decades, the fans who had crowned Richard Petty the “King of NASCAR”
have equally revered Petty’s Level Cross, NC garages and shops, in which, for more than 60 years, the legendary family has turned out winning stock car after winning stock car.
“The Petty’s Garage Performance Tour is our opportunity to take Petty’s Garage from
Randleman, NC, where it all started for me and my family, right to our fans at select events
nationwide,” Petty explains. “Essentially, the Garage is hitting the road and being brought to the consumers. We are looking forward to connecting with enthusiasts and fans over our shared love for high performance vehicles!”

When Petty’s Garage heard about the Tupelo Automobile Museum and the Blue Suede Cruise, they scheduled a two-day stop to coincide with the thousands of car lovers that will be in Tupelo for the weekend of May 4th attending the Blue Suede Cruise. The Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Elvis Presley Birthplace and the Tupelo Automobile Museum are sponsoring the Tupelo stop on the Petty’s Garage National Performance Tour.

The tour features unique , high-performance vehicles that have been produced at Petty’s Garage, along with a walk through exhibit with interactive videos. Visitors will be able to purchase Petty’s Garage signature parts and merchandise . The exhibit will be located in the Tupelo Automobile Museum ‘s east parking lot, from 9AM to 6PM, Friday and Saturday, May 4th and 5th. Petty’s Garage Performance Tour is sponsored in part by Continental Tire, Automotive Lift Institute, National Fleet Solutions, and Forgeline.

Greg Steadman, Petty’s Garage General Manager and former NASCAR crew chief for Petty Enterprises from 2000 to 2006 and Tony Hancock, Petty’s Garage master fabricator, will answer questions and talk shop with visitors.

The Tupelo Automobile Museum will also have some Petty vehicles on display which will
include the Richard Petty No. 43 Pontiac Grand Prix that Petty drove to his 200th victory at the Firecracker 400 at Daytona International Speedway.
