The Second Annual Don’t Be Cruel BBQ Duel Competition of Tupelo will see professional and patio teams compete for the grand prize in our KCBS-Sanctioned competition. Professional or Amateur, enter a team by checking out our Team info page. Want to just relax and enjoy family fun and great BBQ? Admission to the grounds is free.

31st Annual Pepsi Pops

On Friday, May 11, the 31st annual Mississippi Symphony Orchestra’s Pepsi Pops concert will take place at the Ross Barnett Reservoir’s Old Trace Park, under the sponsorship of Brown Bottling Group, Pepsi-Cola distributor. The gates to the park will open at 4:30 pm and their will be pre-concert entertainment, which will include performances from top area musicians including hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

Children will have their own special activities area, the Pepsi Playground, which will be open from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. In addition to a space jump and slides, children can enjoy a number of other games and activities.

Concessions will be provided for purchase.

The public is also invited to bring their family picnic basket to the event. An annual contest is held for the “Best Picnic Design”, and prizes are awarded to the winners.

The Jackson Symphony League will be selling glow sticks and 2010 Pepsi Pops posters.

At 7:30 pm, Maestro and the MSO will take the stage for a rousing concert plus patriotic marches culminating in a fantastic fireworks finale.

Tickets may be purchased at Kroger grocery stores, BeBop Records and the MSO office. ‘Ticket prices are $12 for adults when purchased in advance; $15 at the gate. Children’s tickets (ages 4-18) are $5. Children under the age of four are free.
