“REFLECTIONS OF THE UNIVERSE”

Rainwater Observatory in French Camp, Mississippi will be offering a free program for this season called “REFLECTIONS OF THE UNIVERSE”. This presentation will be given on Friday, June 8, 2012, starting at 7:00 p.m. by Edwin Faughn, managing director of Rainwater Observatory.

Over the past twenty-five years artist and lecturer Edwin Faughn has developed a presentation called “REFLECTIONS OF THE UNIVERSE” that focuses on the magnificent visual beauty and unimaginable vastness of the heavens. This inspiring, educational and entertaining Power Point presentation is illustrated with numerous paintings by Faughn that have been featured in and on the covers of space science magazines, books, exhibitions and planetarium productions such as SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN magazine and the world premiere of TITANIC: THE EXHIBITION. It also contains some of the latest discoveries in the field of space science.

After the presentation, weather permitting, an observing session will be held using Rainwater’s collection of powerful telescopes including the largest in Mississippi. The planetarium can be used if the outdoor observing is clouded out. Rainwater Observatory and Planetarium is located one mile east of the Natchez Trace Parkway off MS Highway 413 near the village of French Camp in Mississippi.
