TUPELO, MS:  A traveler advisory remains in effect for the Natchez Trace Parkway from mile post 40 (Port Gibson) south.

Most of the bridges and shaded areas of the Parkway south of Port Gibson, MS, continue to be icy as a result of the severe winter weather experienced over the last several days.  Although forecast highs for today call for temperatures in the mid-60’s, it will be late this afternoon before traffic surfaces are expected to thaw.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when driving on the Parkway in this area.

For up-to-date Parkway road conditions, call (662) 680-4027 from 8 AM to 5 PM or evenings at (662) 680-4002.  In the event of an emergency on the Natchez Trace Parkway, contact 911.
