NATCHEZ, MS:  A traveler advisory is in effect for southern portions of the Natchez Trace Parkway, effective immediately on Tuesday, January 28 through Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

Due to accumulating snow and ice, travel on the Natchez Trace Parkway from the intersection of I-20 (near milepost 88) south to Natchez, MS is not recommended, and travelers are advised to find alternate routes.  Travelers heading north from the I-20 corridor along the Natchez Trace Parkway to Kosiusko (near milepost 160) should travel with extreme caution as conditions are expected to deteriorate throughout the day.   Motorists should exercise caution when driving on the Parkway due to the possibility of icing, especially on bridges.

For up-to-date Parkway road conditions, call (662) 680-4027 from 8 AM to 5 PM or evenings at (662) 680-4002.  In the event of an emergency on the Natchez Trace Parkway, contact 911.
