In what has become a holiday tradition at the Frist Center, visitors bringing non-perishable food items to the Frist Center on Mondays in November and December receive free admission to the Frist Center’s galleries.

The Natchez Trace Parkway is pleased to host the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians for a Choctaw Heritage Celebration on Saturday, November 5, 2011. The event, in commemoration of American Indian Heritage Month, will be held at the Parkway Visitor Center (milepost 266), just north of Tupelo, MS, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Natchez Trace Parkway officials announce a detour at milepost 391, east of Hohenwald, TN, at Highway 412 starting on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is widening TN Highway 412. A longer Parkway bridge at milepost 391.3 will be constructed to span the enlarged highway.

The Natchez Trace Parkway will host the annual Meriwether Lewis Arts and Craft Festival at the Meriwether Lewis Monument Site (Mile Post 385.9). The festival is sponsored by the Maury County Arts Guild and will take place October 8 and 9, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The Crockett Theatre Board is pleased to announce the return of The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra. Back by popular demand, The Glenn Miller Orchestra performs an encore performance of their very popular stage show on Tuesday, August 23, 7:00pm at Lawrenceburg’s historic Crockett Theatre.

The Natchez Trace Parkway will offer a special interactive photography program at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center on Saturday, August 27,2011, at 9:45 a.m. This free one-hour program is open to all ages and all ability levels; beginner photographers are welcome.
