Natchez Trace Parkway Tourism Creates $136 Million in Local Economic Benefits
Tupelo, MS – A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 5,846,473 visitors to Natchez Trace Parkway in 2014 spent $136 million in communities near the park, which supported 1,843 jobs in the local area.

From January through March 2015, the Natchez Trace Parkway experienced decreases in the number of recreational visits over the 2014 figures,” stated Superintendent Mary Risser.

The Tombigbee Pioneer Group will demonstrate pioneer-era crafts and skills at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center from10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015. The presentations will show the challenges faced and creative solutions developed by those Americans who lived in the area from the 1700s to 1840.
