TUPELO, MS:  A traveler advisory is in effect for the Natchez Trace Parkway from mile post 340 (Tennessee/Alabama line) north.

There have been several reports of icy patches on the Parkway in isolated areas.  A wintry mix, including patchy freezing drizzle and light snowfall, is possible in this area through the mid-morning hours, and wet road conditions could lead to additional patchy ice formation.  Bridges and overpasses will be even more susceptible to icing.  Some of this icing may form as a thin coating of glazed ice known as black ice, which is virtually transparent.  Travelers are cautioned to watch for these patches, especially in shaded areas of the Parkway.

For up-to-date Parkway road conditions, call (662) 680-4027 from 8 AM to 5 PM or evenings at (662) 680-4002.  In the event of an emergency on the Natchez Trace Parkway, contact 911.
