Turkey Day 8K on the multi-purpose trails off the Natchez Trace Parkway!
Need something to do to burn off those Thanksgiving Day calories BEFORE you eat them?
Join Fleet Feet Sports at 7:00am in the Fleet Feet Sports parking lot for their 2nd Annual Turkey Day 8K! People all over the Ridgeland/Madison area walk, jog and bike on the Ridgeland multi-purpose trails each day off the Natchez Trace Parkway.
Lesley McLin, owner of Fleet Feet Sports of Jackson (and an avid runner herself) decided that the proceeds from this year’s Fleet Feet Sports Turkey Day 8K run/walk will go back to the city of Ridgeland for maintenance of the trails.
The 8K run will take place at 7 a.m. Thanksgiving Day and will be followed by the 8K walk. A half-mile fun run will begin once all runners and walkers have cleared the five-mile course. The race begins and ends at Fleet Feet and will include a section of the trails.
“The city of Ridgeland has been so supportive of the running, walking and cycling community,” McLin said. “Last year we had about 600 people, and we’re hoping for 700 this year. Anyone who’s around on Thanksgiving Day should come out to race, volunteer or cheer. We promise to have them back to the dinner table by 10 a.m.”
