Bye Bye Detour

It’s a sight weary drivers have waited on for a long time. The frustrating detour, which began in November 2015, around the Little Swan Creek Bridge is gone!

The Little Swan Creek Bridge was originally constructed in 1962 at milepost 387.  Over time, severe concrete deterioration in the structure required a complete bridge replacement. This bridge went from being the worst on the Parkway to the best. The bridge officially re-opened on May 31, 2017, inviting travelers a through-ride once again along the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Since the Parkway was completed in 2005, there have been only a few short periods without a construction detour. Now is one of those rare times, so come visit the Parkway and enjoy the ride!
