Early Morning Traffic Safety Checkpoints
Natchez Trace Parkway Rangers have conducted early morning traffic safety checkpoints around the Tupelo area. These checkpoints are designed to remove impaired drivers, unlicensed drivers, and unlawfully operated vehicles from the Parkway during periods of peak traffic.
Natchez Trace Parkway Removes Stairs from Emerald Mound
In an effort to preserve Emerald Mound, the Natchez Trace Parkway (Parkway) removed the stairs that lead to the top of one of its secondary mounds.

Visitor Services Reduced as Natchez Trace Parkway Renovates Visitor Center
The Parkway Visitor Center will be closed for renovations starting January 1, 2018, and is expected to remain closed until February 12, 2018.
Mount Locust Site Revised Winter Hours
The Mount Locust Site along the Natchez Trace Parkway will begin winter hours of operation from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, Wednesday through Sunday. The site will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays starting Monday, December 25, 2017.
