Congratulations to Our Natchez Trace Fall Foliage Photo Contest Winner!

During the autumn season, the Natchez Trace Parkway offers a brilliant display of fall colors along its route. We love it. Visitors love it. Even the wildlife loves it (we assume). With so much love for fall on the Trace, we decided to open up the opportunity for visitors to snap a photo of the scenic byway’s fall foliage for a chance to win a nice prize. Without further ado, the 2015 Natchez Trace Fall Foliage Photo Contest winner with the most votes–a whopping 720–is Laurie Anderson of Columbia, Tennessee! Check it out…

So how did the fun contest work? We asked visitors and social media followers to share the photos they took during their recent trip on the Natchez Trace Parkway. We had a feeling we would see some magical entries from one of the best places in Southern U.S. to see fall foliage! Well, we couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of bright and colorful photos uploaded to The Natchez Trace Facebook page. We’re even more happy to have folks involved and excited about the historic Parkway, a National Scenic Byway and All-American Road.

After tons of incredible entries, it was time to tally the votes from Trace friends all over social media. With all of the votes accounted for, Laurie won the contest with 720 votes for her wonderful photo. Isn’t it a beauty?

As a special thanks for her great photo, Laurie won a comfy “nest” from some of the world’s best hammock and gear suppliers at Eagle’s Nest Outfitters, or “Eno” for short. Our friends at Trails & Treads in Tupelo, Mississippi were kind enough to hook our winner up with an Eno DoubleNest Hammock, an Eno Atlas Hammock Suspension System, and an Eno Hammock Moonshine Light to make the most of any lazy afternoon on the Trace.

Even though Laurie managed the most votes, plenty of other followers shared amazing photos taken a different points along the 444-mile historic trail. You shouldn’t miss out on these pretty scenes either. Take a look at their entries.

We’ve sure enjoyed the beautiful shades of yellows, oranges, and reds on display this fall, and we hope you all have too. Soon enough, winter will be here in full force. But don’t let your winter worries get you down; the colder months are actually a wonderful time to take a short trip down the Trace. Don’t believe us? See for yourself.

Whether you’re all filled up on autumn or just waiting on winter’s wonders, thanks to everyone who voted in this year’s fall foliage contest! A special thanks to all of you who shared your beautiful photos with the world, and congratulations and a job well done to Laurie.

We can’t wait to see what y’all have in store for our next fun photo contest! Be sure to follow The Natchez Trace on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
