Natchez Trace Parkway officials announce a closure from milepost 204.3 to milepost 214.5 due to the impacts of recent storms. On April 27, 2011 there was significant damage done to trees on the Parkway by the outbreak of severe weather.  To remove the damaged trees in an expeditious manner, the Parkway will be closed beginning May 23, 2011 from milepost 204.3 to milepost 214.5.

Northbound traffic will be rerouted beginning at milepost 204.3 via US 82 east to MS 15, then north back to the Parkway at milepost 214.5.

Southbound traffic will be rerouted beginning at milepost 214.5 via MS 15 south to US 82, then west back to the Parkway at milepost 204.3.

Parkway travelers are encouraged to take precautions through this area. Additional travel time should be less than 10 minutes.  This detour is expected to be in place until August 30, 2011.
