Oak Hill was built shortly after 1835 as the residence of William A Beatty and his wife, and exhibits both Federal and Greek revival styles of architecture.

The historic home is perfect for bed and breakfast, with its location in the heart of the downtown historic and garden district, just steps away from historic attractions.

If architecture is your interest, you’ll be impressed by this home’s all-original millwork and Carpenter Co. locks from the 1830’s.

In keeping with the style of most antebellum homes, Oak Hill features a formal parlor, a dining room, and a generous central hallway. Oak Hill still boasts its original unique cypress floors and unique sliding windows in the upstairs hallway.

In 1979, Oak Hill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2004, Donald McGlynn and Douglas Mauro purchased the historic home with an eye toward maintaining the integrity of the house, and restoring the landscaping. McGlynn and Mauro won the 2005 Restoration Award from the Natchez Historic Foundation for their work on Oak Hill Inn.

Today, Historic Oak Hill Inn is one of the most highly rated Natchez B&B’s on Trip Advisor. If you plan to travel the Natchez Trace this spring, consider staying at this beautiful B&B. The Natchez Trace Parkway leads you 444 miles through three states and 10,000 years of North American history, and it all starts at milepost 1 in Natchez, Mississippi. Once you travel the Parkway and immerse yourself in the rich, vibrant history of their charming city, you’ll be sure to come back for more.
