TUPELO, MS – The Natchez Trace Parkway invites children and their families to “Digging History!” a special Junior Ranger program to be held at the Parkway Visitor Center on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:00 am. Do you like to dig in the dirt, figure out stories from clues or learn about the past? These are all things archaeologists do—maybe you are one, too! Join a park ranger for this 45 minute hands-on program to learn about the important role archaeology plays in telling the story of the Natchez Trace Parkway. This program is ideal for children seven to 12 years old but everyone is welcome. All park resources are protected by law, and Parkway staff work closely with professional archeologists to monitor and protect cultural sites.
The Visitor Center is located at milepost 266 on the Natchez Trace Parkway, near Tupelo, Mississippi. For additional information, please call (800) 305-7417.
