TUPELO, MS:

The Natchez Trace Parkway is closed to all traffic from Mississippi Highway 8, near mile marker 230, north to the Alabama state line.  The Parkway is currently experiencing dangerous and impassable road conditions from Hwy 8 north to the Alabama state line.  Rangers report that dozens of vehicles are stuck or have gone off the roadway due to the hazardous conditions.  The Parkway should not be considered as an alternate route to state roadways.

Due to rapidly changing weather conditions, travel is not recommended on the rest of the Parkway due to the potential of snow and ice.  In addition to slick conditions the potential for falling trees and limbs is high.  Travelers using the Parkway are doing so at their own risk.

For up-to-date Parkway road conditions, call (662) 680-4027 from 8 AM to 5 PM or evenings at (662) 680-4002.  In the event of an emergency on the Natchez Trace Parkway, contact 911.
