Natchez Spring Pilgrimage of Antebellum Homes – March 5 – April 5
Taking place on eight individual days during a month-long period, Natchez’s annual spring pilgrimage has been wowing visitors for more than 85 years. During this time, 24 historic, antebellum homes open their doors to visitors from all over the world. Best of all, many of these homes are privately owned by descendants of the home’s builders, mean there are plenty of unique stories to be shared during a tour of these incredible homes.
This event is sponsored by the North Mississippi Dulcimer Association, an organization that teaches dulcimer history, tradition, craftsmanship, and music by sharing its knowledge and talents. Stop by the Tupelo Visitor’s Center to kick off spring with the “sweet sound” that gave this instrument its name. The sounds are sure to take you back in time to the days of the Old Trace. After all, the Appalachian mountain dulcimer is the first instrument developed exclusively in the United States.
