RIDGELAND, MS: The Natchez Trace Parkway, the National Park Foundation, and Bike Walk Mississippi will present “Trailfest on the Trace” on Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. This free, family-friendly festival will be held at the Parkway Information Cabin at milepost 102.4 on the Natchez Trace Parkway, near Ridgeland, MS.

The festival will celebrate local history, nature, and the outdoors through children’s activities, music, and fun. Children will explore the Multi-Use Trail through the eyes of an early 1800s traveler on a quarter-mile scavenger hunt, and enter to win prizes—including a new bicycle—when they finish. Four local bands—Taylor Hildebrand, the Furrows, Bloodbird and Swing de Paris—will entertain at the Information Cabin trailhead. Local
vendors will also have food for sale.

This event is sponsored by the Natchez Trace Parkway, the National Park Foundation, and Bike Walk Mississippi. For more information, visit www.nps.gov/natr, www.bikewalkmississippi, or call the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center at 1-800-305-7417.
