The Natchez Trace Parkway Presents Traditional Music by the North Mississippi Dulcimer Association
A special program of dulcimer music will be provided by the North Mississippi Dulcimer Association from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at the Parkway Visitor Center located at milepost 266 near Tupelo, Mississippi.
Pioneer Day at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center
The Tombigbee Pioneer Group will demonstrate pioneer era crafts and skills at the Parkway Visitor Center, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 28, 2018.
Move over and Slow Down
Law Enforcement and Emergency Services vehicles are not the only vehicles working on the road shoulders and highways. Parkway mowers and permitted tow companies also provide valuable services along the roadway; and just like emergency vehicles, highway maintenance and tow trucks also fall under the state’s MOVE OVER laws.
Rangers Utilize Unmarked Vehicles
Rangers will now be using unmarked vehicles to patrol the Natchez Trace Parkway. After a six month pilot program showed a dramatic increase in the number of traffic stops for distracted and aggressive driving, the decision was made to order additional unmarked units.
Every Kid in a Park Environmental Camps Held at the Natchez Trace Parkway
The Natchez Trace Parkway partnered with the Tupelo Public School District (TPSD), National Park Foundation, and Eastern National to offer two fun and educational day camps.
