Pioneer Day at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center – July 28, 2012

The Tombigbee Pioneer Group will perform living history demonstrations that show the challenges faced and creative solutions developed by those Americans who lived in the area from the 1700s to 1840. The demonstrations will take place at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center (located at milepost 266 near Tupelo, Mississippi) from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2012.

Rainwater Observatory in French Camp Mississippi will be offering a free public program called, “Cosmic Rays, Neutrinos, and Subterranean Observatories”. This presentation will be given on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 7:00pm by Jarrod Marsh from the Astronomy-Physics department at Mississippi State University, Starkville.

The Natchez Trace Parkway Presents Traditional Music by the North Mississippi Dulcimer Association

The Natchez Trace Parkway will continue Junior Ranger programs at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center through July, 2012. The programs will be conducted Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 am and will cover natural and cultural history topics that are related to the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Natchez Trace Parkway Lane Closures between Clinton and the Ross Barnett Reservoir for Pavement Repair

The Natchez Trace Parkway is performing pavement repair work in the Ridgeland District (MS) from milepost 103 to 112, between US Hwy 51 and Hwy 43. This work will be done between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during the next several weeks.

Myrick Creek Trail Closure
