Temporary Closure and Travel Advisory for the Yockanookany Section of Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail

A partial closure of the Yockanookany section of the Natchez Trace Scenic Trail will be in effect from July 20, 2015 through July 31, 2015. The temporary closure is needed for repairs to a gas pipeline in this area.

JACKSON, MS – A partial closure of the Yockanookany section of the Natchez Trace Scenic Trail will be in effect from July 20, 2015 through July 31, 2015. The temporary closure is needed for repairs to a gas pipeline in this area. The trail will be closed from the River Bend pull-off (milepost 122.6) to the Cypress Swamp pull-off (milepost 122). The trail will remain open from Yockanookany (milepost 130) to River Bend (milepost 122.6) and from Cypress Swamp (milepost 122) to the West Florida Boundary (milepost 107).

There will be no repair work or closure to the Parkway road, but the surrounding work area adjacent to the road will be signed as a construction zone. Caution should be used while traveling through this area.
